VIDEO - LIVE WITH RBD !!!

Last week I had the chance to perform (on percussion) with RBD on MTV Tr3s (or how my friend Khris calls it ESPN Ocho!)

For those who don't know they are the BIGGEST Pop act in Latin America, breaking all sorts of records and topping charts all over the world. This was a very cool experience to say the least.

I want to thank the rest of the band members for being so amazing and professional, in particular to the nasty drummer Michael Duffy.

Here are the clips peeps:

KARINA WARE: INCREDIBLE!!!!!

During my music career I have come accross many many different types of people and artists. Thanks to the increible network tool that is MYSPACE I had the fortune of meeting a singer called Karina Ware.

Since the day we started emailing I felt a really cool vibe, most of all because of the quality of her music and how DRIVEN she sounded. We met shortly after and when she asked me to record percussion for her I was extremely thrilled and flattered!

I really liked the music on her myspace page but when I heard the rest of the tracks I was just blown away. It just felt great sharing her vision and I cannot thank her enough to let me be a part of it. Karina has an unique, sensual voice and she knows exactly what she wants and how she wants it. I am sure that you will hear her name a lot because this girl has it all.

Her music is down tempo, but to me there's much more to it. Her music can be comparted to Thievery Corporation, Daft Punk, Massive Attack, Air, etc etc etc; but I like her more! jejeje. I love this music style but I hadn't had the chance to record any, so I was naturally eager to get some studio time with her.

When you see her site you'll be able to appreciate that she is also a very beautiful girl, but know that she means business! It's VERY VERY VERY RARE to find people that are both beautiful AND talented. Karina is simply unbelievable and I cannot wait to have the CD on my hand to show it to everyone I know... and their mom.

Know her now... you'll brag about it to your friends later.

check her out!

------------

As musicians we always have dreams and goals we want to achieve. One imagines an infinity of challenges and various situations that we want to experience. For some it's the fame that drives them, for others is the respect of their peers, maybe playing at a specific venue, share the stage with a famous pop act or simple meet an Idol of ours at some backstage.

During my short career I've been lucky enough to play with people like Rubén Blades and others. BUT, not a single show that I have done can compare with the amount of joy and intensity with which I performed at my chidhood friend Luis Enrique's wedding last month.

Luis and all of his family have always supported me since I can remember and it was more than logical too me to give them something that even though its non material, it can have relevance, just any other present.

When I saw his parents smile and dance I felt a great happiness in many levels. I was stoked because I had the privilege to physically be there and share such an important moment with one of my dearest and oldest friends, a brother in fact. I was also happy because I performed and I always love performing.

However, what treally made an impact on me was that this occasion reminded me why I am a musician. I feel I have NEVER forgotten why I am one, and I have a very clear idea of what I want and how I want to do develop my career, but this experience reinforced why I'm in this business, and that is to make people happy!!! make them dance when the music is appropriate and simply make them forget about their daily routine.

I know that Luis and his family are very thankful for my "gift" to them but in reality it is ME who is thankful. THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME BE A PART OF SUCH AN IMPORTANT MOMENT.

I'm honored.

DEMIAN JOINS FACTORY METAL PERCUSSION!

I'm really at a loss of words and I'll try to express my joy as coherently as I can, but I'm delighted, honored and privileged to tell you that I recently joined the FACTORY METAL PERCUSSION endorser's family!

I absolutely love these cymbals not only for their innovative sound and look, but quality and effort put into each and every single one of them.

Jim Anderson, the owner and visionary behind these instruments was kind enough to have me come to the factory, show me around and prepare a 26"cymbal for me!

I cannot even begin to express my gratitude and I hope that this is the beginning of a great relationship!

Congratulations Son Soles!

About a month into my new life here in Los Angeles I got in touch with a very cool band called Son Soles. They play latin pop/rock with some very cool lyrics and have an awesome vibe.

They asked me to play percussion with them for a few shows and they were fantastic to say the least. Much like my stuff with West 8 Five, my setup consisted of Congas, Shakers, chimes and some little effects here and there.

Son Soles have been progressing in the Emergenza Festival rounds here and after our show last Saturday night, we are going to the semifinals!!!

Another cool thing was a show we did the following day as part of the Fiesta Broadway festival , which was crazy... this was a contest as well and we got voted the #1 band and the guys recieved a nice cash prize.

I wanted to take this opportunity to congratutale all of them, express how much fun I had performing with them and I hope we can keep playing in the near future.

Peace
